“And if you are to love, love as the moon loves. It doesn’t steal the night, it only unveils the beauty of the dark.” Unknown

Happy Full Moon in Scorpio! This is our 1st supermoon of the year, as it is close to perigee, which means it is closer to earth and its effects are magnified. It’s called the pink moon because of phlox, pink flowers that bloom in the spring. It’s also been referred to as the egg moon (egg laying season), fish moon (fish spawning) and sprouting grass moon. What would you name this moon? I’m more inclined to call it the green grass moon or blossoming tree moon as that’s what I’m seeing and connecting to in nature at this time. I think the natives were onto something when they named moons as it created a more meaningful connection. Let’s make this moon more personal, name it and claim it for yourself!

With the Sun (the king) in Taurus (earth, grounded) and the Moon (the queen) in Scorpio (water, transformation) we find ourselves with one foot in the material world and the other in the mystical world. Straddling the known and the unknown. The Sun is the ruler of the external world and the Moon rules the internal world. Are there emotions we are avoiding or resisting that want to bubble up to the surface? Scorpio represents the underworld and is ruled by Pluto. Like a phoenix, we burn what is no longer needed so we can rise and be born again.

The Moon represents the emotions and this pink/blossoming tree moon has had me on a rollercoaster. I’ve been feeling up one day and down the next. The only thing holding me together these days other than meditation and yoga is my journaling practice. I do this first thing in the morning. It usually begins with a quote that gives me comfort/inspiration, followed by a list of what I’m grateful for and then I let loose into a stream of consciousness. Words pouring out on the page to be released, witnessed and let go. What practices do you do to manage the ups and downs in life? These practices of self-care are a lifeline.

What I wish for you is to connect with the beauty around you, on the earth, as well as in the stars. May we all receive the moonbeams and dance, sing, journal, do your thing in it’s glowing embrace.

With gratitude

Love,

Rebecca
